Themis Event – PUCP: Regulatory Law

Our Regulatory Consultant, Virginia Nakagawa, participated in the Revista Jurídica THEMIS event for the launch of its Issue No. 87, dedicated to Regulatory Law, which also coincides with the celebration of its 60th anniversary. On this occasion, she took part in Panel No. 2, focused on regulation in the telecommunications sector, lessons learned, and experiences for the deployment of 5G in Peru.

In Issue No. 87, Dr. Nakagawa published the article “The Dilemma of Digital Road Tolls: Fair Share or Just Contribution for an Effective Use of Telecommunications Networks.” This work examines the exponential growth of internet traffic and its impact on telecommunications networks, proposing measures for different stakeholders in the digital ecosystem to contribute to ensuring the sustainability of infrastructure deployment. The article is particularly relevant in the Peruvian context, where a significant connectivity gap still remains to be closed.
