Executive Urgent Decree 008-2026 (Official Gazette, August 18, 2026) establishes extraordinary measures for the implementation of interventions in response to the imminent risk posed by intense rainfall associated with the 2026–2027 El Niño phenomenon, while also introducing other related provisions.
The interventions have been identified by the National Water Authority (“ANA”), which is responsible for their implementation, ensuring the proper use of public resources, and reporting to the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic on each contract executed pursuant to this legal instrument.
