By means of Resolution No. 000133-2026-CD/OSIPTEL (Official Gazette, October 19, 2026), OSIPTEL, Peru’s telecommunications regulator, has approved “Extraordinary and Temporary Measures to Facilitate the Provision of and Access to Public Telecommunications Services for Subscribers and Users Affected by the 2026–2027 El Niño Phenomenon.”
This Resolution establishes an exceptional, temporary regime with a geographically limited scope, applicable exclusively to areas affected by the emergency situations arising from the 2026–2027 El Niño Phenomenon. The measures apply to public telecommunications service operators, as well as to subscribers and users located in areas covered by the declarations of emergency issued in connection with the 2026–2027 El Niño Phenomenon.
