We are pleased to share our Regulatory Alert regarding the following legislative decrees published today:

a) Legislative Decree No. 1733, which incorporates Article 280 into the Criminal Code, enacted by Legislative Decree No. 635, in order to criminalize the illegal provision of telecommunications services within penitentiary facilities and juvenile detention centers. It further incorporates a Fourth Final Complementary Provision into Legislative Decree No. 1688, which regulates administrative obligations and sanctions applicable to public telecommunications service operators in connection with unlawful communications conducted from penitentiary facilities and juvenile detention centers.
b) Legislative Decree No. 1729, which amends Law No. 29571, the Consumer Protection and Defense Code, to strengthen consumer complaint handling mechanisms and to prevent and sanction coercive commercial practices in the context of electronic commerce.
